Magnification Power

Low to no magnification optics are a better choice because most cartridge applications are small to large (human torso, big game) and within 300 yards.

Low magnification optics have many advantages:

You can still see most of your surroundings, so you have a better field of vision
Acquisition of fast targets
Lightweight
2-7x would be the best magnification. A red dot or 1-4x magnification would be another good option.

Red dots and 1x Scopes are special mentions. These optics have the fastest target acquisition time because they can be used with both eyes closed and offer unlimited field of vision. They are my top choice for CQB.

Diameter for Objective Lens
